The article examines the achievements of 20th century codifications in the regulation of stipulation in favour of a third party contract, by virtue of which a third party (beneficiary) acquires a right or benefit from the agreement of the promisee and the promisor in Switzerland, Austria (amendment of 1916), Italy, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, the Netherlands, Russia, the draft of Principles Of European Contract Law.
